Doncaster Council Welcomes Opening of £1.4m Youth Hub in Wheatley

Young people in Wheatley will soon have access to a dedicated new space designed to support their wellbeing, development, and future opportunities, following the official opening of the new Wheatley Youth Centre on Monday 26 October.

The centre provides a safe, welcoming environment where young people can take part in activities, access support services, develop new skills and build positive relationships within their community. The facility has been created to offer opportunities for recreation, learning and personal growth, helping young people to reach their full potential.

The new youth centre will host a range of programmes and activities, including sports, creative arts, educational workshops and wellbeing support, providing young people with a place to connect, learn and thrive.

This new Youth Centre in Wheatley has only been made possible due to the £1.4m funding provided by Government.

The opening marks an important investment in the future of Wheatley's young people, recognising the value of providing accessible community spaces that encourage confidence, resilience and aspiration.

Councillor Sue Farmer, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families, welcomed the opening of the centre and highlighted the positive impact it is expected to have on local families and young people.

"I am delighted to see this new youth centre open its doors in Wheatley. Young people deserve safe, supportive spaces where they can make friends, develop new skills and access the help they need to achieve their ambitions.

This centre will provide invaluable opportunities for young people across the community, helping them to build confidence, improve their wellbeing and feel connected to the people and services around them. I look forward to seeing the positive difference it will make for many years to come."
